Kamishiro cedar x Cameroon ebony
Jindai cedar is a buried tree excavated at the foot of Mt. Chokai, which rises on the border between Akita and Yamagata prefectures.
It is thought to be a cedar that was buried during the eruption of Mt. Chokai about 2,500 years ago, and was excavated in a miraculous state of preservation due to the influence of underground water and soil, making it an extremely valuable material that can be used as fittings and furniture.
The mysterious ash-gray wood surface has been aged over time, and the cedar scent that still lingers today conveys the workings of an ancient forest, creating a unique presence.
Paired with jet black Cameroon ebony, it looks extremely stylish.
