■What is Cameroon Ebony ?A broad-leaved tree that grows throughout Africa, mainly in Cameroon, Nigeria, and Madagascar.
Although it is called "ebony," Cameroon ebony is characterized by its black luster and extremely strong material.
It is also a rare material that is prized as a material for ornaments, Buddhist altars, and musical instruments because it contains a lot of oil and becomes more lustrous the more it is polished.

カバザクラ×カメルーンエボニー
無垢な幼子の素肌のような、淡くきめ細かい木肌とソフトな手触りが特徴の広葉樹。光にかざすとたちまち溢れるような艶立ちが現れます。別名「真樺」、「白樺」。強度、加工性に優れ家具・建具材のほか、フローリング材等の建築材として使用されています。
shinbokuが素材として用いるのは秋田県産のカバザクラ、その中でも赤身の混じらない純白の部分のみを厳選して使用しております。
●カメルーンエボニー
カメルーン、ナイジェリア、マダガスカルを中心としたアフリカ全土に生育する広葉樹。「黒檀」とも呼ばれていますが、カメルーンエボニーはその中でも際立って黒光し、非常に強靭な材質が特徴です。また油分を多く含み、磨くほどに光沢を増すことから、装飾品や仏壇、楽器の材料として尊ばれている希少材です。
