■What is Lignum Vita ?A hardwood tree native to Central and South America.
Lignum vitae, which means "tree of life" in Latin, has a trunk that contains a lot of oil and fat, and the sap was prized as a medicine for all kinds of ailments in ancient times.
It is also known as the "hardest wood in the world," and its characteristics have been used to make things such as ship propellers, bowling balls, and walking sticks.
The light yellow bark of the tree changes to a deep green color over time.
■What is Yamazakura ? Cherry blossoms are one of the flowering trees that are familiar to Japanese people, but among the many cherry blossoms, Yamazakura is the most suitable for wood.
It is easy to process due to its moderate hardness and resistance to deformation, and has excellent water resistance and insect repellency, and is used as material for high-end furniture and musical instruments.
As the years pass, the wood's gentle pale yellow color deepens to an amber color and becomes more glossy.
